customised alert tones

Being anewby to the i4S and have managed to load my own custom made ringtone is it also possible to do the same thing for your alert tone for text and messages ect:

I found a free app with in app purchases that does what you want. How to Create and Set Custom Alert Tones in iOS 5 iPhone.AppStorm

I also found these instructions. Make custom tones for your iPhone Macworld

I haven't tried either of these myself so I can't tell you how well they'll work.

Thanks for the information scifan57, I had a quick look and it looks like it is the type of procedure I was looking for,I'll have a try at what is suggested over the coming weekend when I'll have a bit more time.
