Do I really need screen protector?

Do I really need screen protector?

I have the screen protector that comes with the OtterBox commuter case, but yesterday I changed to a different (thinner) case that wraps around the edge of the screen right where the screen protector stops and the case is making the screen protector bubble in the corners. It isn't affected anything on the screen but its driving me nuts! The OtterBox screen protectors are good though...very clear and no bubbles. I'm about to pull mine off though cause I can't fix the bubbles and I can't stand to look at them.

The way I figure it, the iPhone has a 1 year warranty, so at any point during that time I can just go to the apple store and complain about something where they'll replace it and ill have a brand new screen. And I also have a 3 year SquareTrade warranty so if anything happens after that that I just can't deal with I'll just pay my $50 deductible and be done with it.
your reasoning on the Apple warranty is flawed,if you scratch your screen with every day use Apple will not replace it under the warranty.....you would have to have a genuine problem for Apple to replace your phone,if your phone never developes a problem then you may have to live with scratched screen if you didn't use a protector.

yes of course,it would have to have, but my point is you might never have a problem therefore most people will protect their screens ect.

Like I said, if I go to Apple, it WILL have a genuine problem.
so my question to you is,why would you not protect the screen on your precious iPhone just in case it never develops a problem while its under warranty?

fair enough, your reasoning in the 2nd paragraph is still flawed though.
That's because you don't understand what I'm saying...

Pretend you work at the Apple store and I come in and say that my battery drains in like 4 hours and I don't have hardly anything turned on except wifi and every once in a while the screen does something funky and the phone just locks up. I've tried restoring the phone twice and nothing helps. What do you think they would do?

If all these things were genuine problems then they would replace your phone......my point was that our phones may never have a problem so we need to look after them,we cant rely on the the remote possibility that we may have a problem,as you say you are using a screen protector then the second paragraph isnt relevant....right?

How could you prove that it wasn't a legit problem?

The Battery life complaint would be a tough one.
In order to be legit, you would need to do a DFU restore on your iPhone. Otherwise, they have the hardware and software to test your battery. The software also shows them how many charge cycles you've had, and your best and worst battery life cycles. A DFU restore would wipe that slate clean, and this is what'd they do if your battery life isn't up to par and you haven't tried it already.

I'm just putting this out there for educational purposes. Not intended to be used to cheat Apple. Maybe it'd save someone the headache of driving far off to an Apple store multiple times.
