Well, that's your opinion. They make very high quality products with excellent sound quality which is a fact. No need to get your panties in a bunch over audio equipment lol

dr dre beats are a very good sound.. Dont own a pair but tried them out a few times with my iphone and they do sound great. Dont think the price is TOO bad depending on which pair you opt for. I do agree though that they are EVERYWHERE and most people do just buy them for the brand.. (i seen a kid walking about town with them round his neck.. Had them plugged into a blackberry.. Clearly he just wanted them for the brand as using them with a bb isnt gonna be giving him the best he can get out of them.. Every pair of earphones ive used with a bb has kicked out terrible sound)
Id recommend the solo HD beats.. They kick out great sound and are very lightweight and comfortable. But if your stretching your budget then id recommend some skull candys to tide you over.. They also have great sound for the much cheaper price.

Dre Beats, Bose, Etc. These companies make decent products BUT, they spend most of their capital in marketing and advertisement. If you want good sound quality at a lower price look at Shure, Etymotic, Westone. You will get a much better bang for your buck, but you won't 'look as cool' as the rest of the people.
