error cant connect iphone to comp?

hey guys when i connect my iphone to my comp itunes says

the iphone cannot be used because the apple mobile device service is not started

can someone plz help as i want to restore and update to 4.3.1 and jailbreak thanks

im currently on 4.1

ok i followed these insutrctions

First try restarting the Apple Mobile Device:

1. Go to your start menu and choose Control Panel.

2. Switch to Classic View for the Control Panel. You can select the view type in the top-left corner area of the control panel.

3. Double-click on Administrative Tools.

4. Double-click on Services.

5. Find Apple Mobile Device in the list (usually near the top of the list since it is alphabetical) and double-click on it.

6. Select the Start button.

If this starts the service, then make certain the the Startup Type (found in the same window as the start button) is set to Automatic, and you are done.


and now the error doesnt come up but itunes doesnt reconize my iphone>?
