Exchange Delete Mail?

When I click delete, the files are still in my "all mail" folder, right?
So if I just stay inside the "all mail" folder, then when I delete it, it will actually delete?

Im suing Gmail and I just want to know if anyone has any tips on how to actually delete mail and such.

Gmail operates differently than other email providers. Gmail moves deleted mail to the archive instead deleting it like other mail servers under the exchange setup of the mail app.

Thats what I read. I dont want to switch emails completely.
But I dont want space to be taken up for emails that were supposed to be deleted. I read that if I stay in the "all mail" folder and delete the emails from inside that folder, that they will actually get deleted...
