Well that didn't take long... it's not surprising to find out that there are a slew of Chinese companies with plans to offer fake versions of the Apple Watch; however, what is surprising is that they already have them available. Yes, they are already available for sale online, with prices ranging from $40 to $80 USD equivalent. Feel free to sigh and roll your eyes now.
In fact, there are several different brands and models to choose from (we have several images of ads in the thread below). Most of them do little more than copy the outer design of the Apple Watch and tell the time, yet some of them aspire to do more. One in particular actually tries to mimic most of the functions of the Apple Watch. Here's a quote with the details,
The Zeaplus Watch can reportedly detect a user’s heart rate, track their steps and other health-oriented information, and actually make phone calls thanks to an open slot for a SIM card.
It remains to be seen how well it actually handles those functions. Regardless, it's both funny and sad that this type of fakery still occurs. It's like the "Old West" in China apparently...
