TechHive has a cracking post today all about the latest thing in iPhone cases, which just happens to be edible cases! The case is called the Survival Senbei iPhone 5 case, it costs 3,818 Yen (around $48), and comes from the creative mind of Japanese senbei artisan, Mariko. Mariko actually hand crafts each of the cases herself, which means that only three of them can be made per day. Unfortunately the case is not very robust, as you might expect, and Mariko herself provides stats as to just how fragile the case is, saying that there is a 9% chance that it will shatter in transit, and a 120% chance that it will be completely useless when dropped. As TechHive notes, they are not sure how Mariko managed to come up with the figure of 120% rather than 100%, which seems pretty final in itself, but as they say, we are talking about an edible iPhone case here, which is pretty strange anyway!
