With many people in the US enjoying their Independence Day holiday today, I'm sure many will be heading to the nation's great parks, so this Yellowstone personalised tour guide app from VentureDNA could come in very handy for those just setting off on a trip. GeoRoamer for Yellowstone National Park is the first fully integrated GPS and audio tour guide for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. The app has over 150 way points, with corresponding historic audio files.
The VentureDNA team that developed the app pulled together over a century of knowledge about the "Geyser Wonderland", with audio tour segments from well-known and respected park experts Aubrey Haines, John Good and Lee Whittlesey. These segments were then carefully mapped to the GPS waypoints, to ensure that visitors will always know where they are, what's near, and how far they are from the next stop. The app also has preprogrammed tours, from "Must See", to popular points of interest, that visitors can use as a starting point before creating their own custom tours.
Were excited to provide a cost-effective way to experience Yellowstone that educates adults and children alike while giving back to the non-profit organizations that support the park.
Stewart Dixon, CEO of VentureDNA
The app costs $8.99 to download from the Apple iTunes App Store, with all proceeds going to three non-profit organisations: National Parks Conservation Association, The Nature Conservancy and Greater Yellowstone Coalition.
