Gmail Not Showing in Notifications Despite Setting-Please Help

Recently starting using Gmail app. Have set notifications on for it, but although new emails update the badge, they do not show in notifications. Any help appreciated.

I use Gmail but decided to use via Exchange. It works very well. Here is a link that will explain Setting up Google Sync with your iOS device - Google Mobile Help

Check in Settings> Notifications> Mail> Notification center ON.
