Google announced via the Google Mobile Blog today the beta launch of Google Cloud Print for mobile documents and Gmail for mobile, saying that it would be rolling the service out for English-speaking users in the US over the next few days. Google Cloud Print will work on the majority of phones that support HTML5, including all iOS 3+ devices. To use the feature, simply open a document in Google Docs or an email in Gmail in your mobile browser and select Print from the dropdown menu in the top-right corner. You can also print certain email attachments such as .pdf or .doc files by clicking on the print link next to them. Then, provided you have connected your printer to Google Cloud Print (for which youll need to have the latest beta version of the Google Chrome browser installed), it will print your document out remotely. At present it only works on Windows PCs, but Google says that Linux and Mac support is on the way soon.
