Well, google recently released their YT app since Apple removed their native one from iOS 6. Now users would choose the app rather than using browser. I don't see why, following the same logic, Google should risk being taken as punishing iPhone users and not releasing a Maps app too. I am personally expecting the Maps app to be announced by Google in the near future.
