I was a Droid user and recently switch to the iPhone 4s the GPS on the Droid is excellent giving you turn by turn as you were driving and never shutting off as long you had the GPS on. This GPS sucks it tells you in the beginning where you have to go but when you need to make a turn it doesn't warn you that you need to make a turn or get off at a particular exit number if you're on the Freeway. Is there a way to change the settings on the "Maps" or is there a better GPS App similar to the one from Droid.

Remember Google makes that map and isn't going to give Apple all the bells and whistles that they have on Android. They have to keep something for themselves. First decide whether you want to have your maps on the phone or download as you go, using up your data plan quickly. Downloaded maps take up a lot of space, but are available in poor 3G/4G areas reception areas. My favorite is Navigon, you can chose area maps, such as eastern, central, west coast, etc. thereby reducing the storage needed on your iPhone. MapQuest is another good one. They offer everything that the stand alone GPS units do, such as traffic info, turn-by-turn voice instructions, 3D maps, etc.. Search navigation in the Apps store, there are many different ones available.
