help with understanding the internet usage

hi, i just bought a contract with 1GB internet. Does this mean i can use it anywhere or does that just mean how much i can download on a wifi signal?

It pertains only to cellular usage. If on wifi, it does not subtract from the 1 GB allowance.

If you are connected via wifi anything you do will not go against your data plan. When you are not connected to wifi and you access something (email, web, etc) that will count towards your 1 GB. it will cost you extra money only if you've finished using up your 1gb of data allowance.
