How to activate Iphone 4 without Original SIM - Iphone 4 Firmware 5.0

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to activate iphone 4 without original sim?

Phone : Iphone 4
Installed Firmware 5.0
Installed Baseband Modem : 04.11.08-ICE_2_13


is there any other way to activate the phone.

Managed to activate the phone using redsn0w 0.9.9b8 for Windows

Actually its my friend's phone. he bought on ebay.
After Upgrading to new OS , he released that phone is locked to network
This is when i got involved.
Phone was stuck on activation screen. we tried different SIMS but no joy,
Which confirmed phone is locked to network.
I was able to by pass the activation by using redsn0w 0.9.9b8 for Windows.
With redsn0w, phone is now jailbreaked. I installed ultrasn0w to fix the network lock, but that failed.
its probably because ultrasn0w does not support Iphone 4 Baseband Modem : 04.11.08-ICE_2_13.

Please do correct me if i am wrong.

Has any one managed to carry out network unlock on Iphone 4 Baseband Modem : 04.11.08-ICE_2_13.

Hacktivating is just about gaining access to the OS after a fresh restore without a valid SIM. Hacktivating does not unlock the phone so you can use any SIM. As you have found, baseband 04.11.08 cannot be unlocked as things stand today, so whilst you can use your phone like an iPod Touch, you will not be able to use the cellular radio features.
