how to create custom ringtone?? please help me out...

i'm new with iphone and i wanted to create my own custom ringtones.. i already followed most of the ways to create.. i knew how to create using itunes but after i sync, nothing inside my iphone.. what's the problem.. getting very frustrated with itunes and the custom ringtones! please help me out!!

The link below has a great video that will walk you through it, but it has to be an MP3, not a tune purchased via iTunes.
