How to delete pictures sent to me in a text message.

I would like to know how to delete a picture that was sent to me in a text message. I tried tapping and holding the picture and options came up, but they don't stay up long enough to select one. Or do I just have to delete the whole message?

Tap a message with text only, and hold it, until you see "Copy" and "More":

Choose "More".
Then deselect the text message, checkmark the image, then you can delete it:

It works the same way with text:

you could just delete the whole text conversation and the pics would be gone with it .

I feel your pain. I'm constantly having to delete selfie texts from the hunnies so my girlfriend doesn't see them and flip out.
