How to fresh install ios in iPhone 3gs - Plz Help

Hello,

I have bought a used iPhone 3gs, it was working fine when i bought it.
When i came home it was boot looping in recovery mode.

Then i googled about it and thought of installing and upgrading the ios.

I currently dont know what is the ios version or the baseband because it is not letting me go past the recovery loop.

I tried to install the official ios 5 but iTunes gave me errors like,

1) 3194 (I updated host files and it was fixed)
2) 1600 (Used iReb)

And a few more errors, i also have tinyumbrella with me.

I am all messed up with these things.

Mostly my ios version is something like ios 3. I am sure its not greater than 3.

Most of these softwares want you to have some shsh blobs, i dont know what they are and i cant save them because
my phone isnt booting at all.

Can anyone please guide me on how to install some version of iOs which can be unlocked and jailbroken,
so atleast my phone is functional.

Then i can like save my shsh and update to ios 5 or something.

Any help will be greatly appreciated folks.

As far as SHSH blobs, dont worry about that. The latest version for IOS is 5.0.1 and apple is still signing it so you will be able to save your SHSH blobs later on. Make sure to install IOS 5 ASAP because 5.1 will be released pretty soon by apple and IOS 5.0.1 will not be signed by them any more.
