How to Stream 1080p Blu-ray movies to iPhone 5 from PC/Mac?

Now that we’ve put everything in the iTunes library, how about adding more movie collections, like the DVDs and Blu-rays? A Read below for a guide of how to back up/convert Blu-ray movies to iTunes in 1080p and have iPhone 5 play them from a Mac/Windows computer, wirelessly.


[How to] Stream Blu-ray 1080p movies on iPhone 5 from PC/Mac

Part I. Rip Blu-ray into iPhone 5 supported


1. Install Pavtube Blu-ray Ripper on your computer.

2. Insert Blu-ray Disc to BD-ROM. If you computer has no BD drive equipped, use an external one via USB connection.

3. Run the Blu-ray Ripper. Follow “File>> Load from disc…” to import Blu-ray movie to the software. Keep your computer networked- so that the software can handle BD+ protections properly.

4. Select the main movie from file list. Set desired audio and subtitles language.

5. Select iPhone 5 format template from the drop-down profile list of “Format” bar.

6. Press the big Convert button to start copying & converting Blu-ray to your computer hard drive. Wait till conversion completesClick "Open" to find converted movies.


Part 2. Add ripped Blu-ray to iTunes movie libarary

7. Open iTunes on your computer, choose “File - > Add File to Library…” to add the converted Blu-ray movie to iTunes movie library.

Part 3. Stream Blu-ray 1080p movie to iPhone 5
in 16:9


8. In your iTunes, follow SHARED-> Home Sharing to enable live streaming of video, music and photos.

9. Connect iPhone 5 to your home network. On your iPhone, go to Settings-> iPod to turn on Home Sharing.

10. To have iPhone play the ripped Blu-ray movie, just open up iPod app on your iPhone and hit more tab. Then you can see the shared Blu-ray movie. Press on the movie to start sharing streaming movies to iPhone 5.

If you’d like to watch the movies on the road when Wi-Fi is not available, then you can sync the movies to iPhone 5 with iTunes (click to read how-to).
