What the OP reported is actually a form of malware known as scareware. It's designed to make you believe your iPhone is infected with a virus so you'll be more likely to be sucked in to their scheme to steal your money and personal information. If you stop and think about it you'll realize that a browser cannot possibly scan an iPhone or any system for viruses.
