Along with its milestone, Instagram announced that it will be ramping up its fight against spam accounts and deleting them. The firm notes, "“We’re committed to doing everything possible to keep Instagram free from the fake and spammy accounts that plague much of the web, and that’s why we’re finishing up some important work that began earlier this year".
One way the photo sharing service will be addressing the issue is by rolling out verified accounts for celebs, public figures, brands and other notable folks in the world. Verified accounts should be rolling out in the next few days, so look out for who is real and who had you fooled.
