Invitees in Calander not working

Hi,

I have an iPhone 5 and my wife has and iPhone 5C

I am trying to add her as an invitee to certain calendar events.

I tap the invitee button that takes me to my contacts. I find her contact, but when I tap her name I does nothing.

Any help would be appreciated
