9to5 Mac writes that Apple has officially launched iOS 10.1 worldwide last night, so expect it to be arriving in your territory any day now, if it hasn’t already. It’s not a major update, but it does have a few interesting features, including the much talked about Portrait Mode for the iPhone 7 Plus, which, according to Apple’s release notes “creates a depth effect that keeps your subject sharp while creating a beautifully blurred background.”
The rest of the update is concerned with various other fixes and improvements, including, for Maps, transit support for “every major train, subway, ferry, and national bus line, as well as local bus systems for Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya,” as well as “sign-based transit navigation including layouts of all underground structures and walkways that connect large transit stations,” which actually sounds amazing, and very handy!
Messages has also had quite a lot of tweaking, with the ability to replay bubble and full-screen effects, and also the fixing of a white screen error, among other bits and bobs.
