Ios 5 update. Calendar issue

So when I updated my phone to the iOS 5 system the + sign in the top right corner of my calendar disappeared. I can't add events to my calendar anymore. I read somewhere you can hold down on the day to add an event but this doesn't work either. Can anyone help??? Please!!!!

I'm having the same issue. Any solutions? I updated my husband's phone and his doesn't have this issue. We've both got the same 3Gs phones.

Figured out you have to turn on the Calendar alerts in iCloud and then it will work. Only problem is, it populated my phone with all the alerts in my husband's phone. grrrr..... You can turn off the calendar alerts in iCloud and it asked if you want to delete the calendar updates and i said yes but it deleted ALL ......including mine! Turned it back on and it repopulated but I really don't want his calendar dates on my phone. I'm not liking iCloud one bit!
