According to latest data coming from Apple's App Store Distribution page, iOS 8 is now powering 77% of Apple's devices. While this is a modest improvement over the 75 percent adoption rate as measured by the App Store two weeks ago, it shows a stable increasing trend.
iOS 7 continues to lose ground as just 20 percent of iPhones, iPads and iPods are running last year’s redesigned mobile operating system. This is a drop by 2 percentage points from the 22 percent figure measured two weeks ago.
Three percent of iOS devices are on iOS versions older than iOS 7, a figure that hasn't changed. Still, Apple's numbers are much better than Google’s. At the moment, Android 5.0 Lollipop is powering just 3.3 percent of smartphones and tablets.
