Right now I’m updating the iPhone 16 Pro Max to iOS 18.1 Beta 4 so I can use the backup of my iPhone 15Pro.

Did you have to set it up and sign in to update it?

Yes. But I’ve not installed any additional content. After the update is finished, I’ll erase the iPhone and set it up from the backup from my iPhone 15Pro.
