iPhone 3GS unable to fix error 3194

I am having trouble trying to restore iPhone 3GS. I need to unlock it for use on T-Mobile. I have TinyUmbrella and unchecked the Set Host to Cydia on Exit. I have also edited the host file on notepad several times. I've tried the tutorial on the Hacking Tutorial & Guides, and I've also tried editing the host file to add 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com on to the last line.
I am at a lost on what to do, I've tried googling and they all came up with the same methods for the fix, but it isn't working for me.

TinyUmbrella version 5.10.06
Newest Version of iTunes
iPhone 3GS with new bootrom.
iOS 4.3.5 Baseband 5.16.02

You need to REMOVE, not add, the references to gs.apple.com from your hosts file. Also, be sure you are using the most recent version of iTunes.
