Iphone 4 unlock help

Hi I have a iPhone 4 gsm 16 gig and its on relies mobilty it's my service provider it's only in Canada. And my question is that on eBay under unlocks they said they can only do it to AT&T iPhones. Does it mean I need AT&T model of it or carrier. I think I have the at&t model. I need some one toclear this up for me.

They mean the carrier the iPhone is currently locked to. How IMEI unlocks work is that they get the specific IMEI lock serial from the original carrier (only they have the serial) and use that to basically unlock the binds on your IMEI so that it can be placed on the global whitelist. You'll need to get the IMEI unlock for your carrier

I have the same provider in Canada and the same iphone, the 16gb one. I got my IMEI directly from the device, and then I got it unlocked at iphoneofficial.com It took like.. couple of hours and now it works like a charm. You should give it a try
