iPhone 4s - eMail Sent File?

I'm a new member of the forum, looking forward to participating in sharing info and ideas here. My new iPhone 4s is my first iPhone, so I'm still on a steep learning curve with this amazing device.

1. When I send an email or respond to an email, I'm unable to find a "Sent" file as I have on my Mac Mail on my MacBook. Does this exist?

2. Would it be possible to have all of my iPhone emails go to my MacBook "Sent" file? I want to optimize the use of my iPhone as an extension of my MacBook mail, calendar, address book, etc.

Welcome some advice on point #1 above in particular.
