Whenever I travel to the US, which can range from every other week to once in a few months, I've been using my unlocked iPhone on the T-Mobile network, using their Pay-As-You-Go service. I've had to put up with the slower data speeds, but it's better than dropping a wad of money on AT&T for service that I may not even use for a few months at a time.
Now I've upgrade to the iPhone 4S (purchased factory unlocked, directly from Apple) and, as many have pointed out, the "Enable 3G" option is now gone. For those who have used iPhones on T-Mobile's network, disabling the 3G option was always a necessary step to get the data up and running.
My question is: Now that the "Enable 3G" option is gone, are the iPhone 4S units connecting to T-Mobile's data network? Has anybody tried this? I'd like to know for sure before I visit the US next week..
Thanks,
Chuck
