Iphone 4s verizon

I was ahving the same problem here in Australia on Vodafone so went to my a vodafone store and the tech guy there went into my settings and turned on Data roaming in hte nework settings and all of a sudden web pages would load and i could use my data for something other than Facebook. Migh be worth checking that you have data roaming turned on in settings.

As far as I know - ALL 3G Unrestrictor does is allow you to use WiFi-Only apps over 3G (such as FaceTime), and it lets you get around restrictions such as downloading files larger than 20mb from the app store and such.

I am fairly certain it does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to improve your connection in any way.

Take care,
Rob

*Sigh*. Simply not true. It will trick any app you choose into thinking it's on WiFi. Use your YouTube app. You cannot view HQ videos on 3G. Not only that, even on low quality (default), it will stutter and buffer constantly. The same is true with iTunes Match, iTunes, Netflix, Pandora, iCatcher & so on. With 3G Unrestrictor, these apps all work flawlessly on 3G. No stuttering or buffering at all. Use it, or don't use it. Means nothing to me. This app works & I have no problem recommending it. FWIW, I do not work or know the developer of this product. Good luck.

Doesn't data roaming subject you to extra fees?

3g unrestrictor does not increase performance nor is it a fix to verizons slow 3g speed. It does remove the restricton apple and itunes puts on the use of the 3g system. I am glad it works for you and fixed your issues. But that is not what the app does.

It must be subject to different area because when I am on 3G it is speedy fast for me. I am on Verizon and have the 4s

It's the network. Verizon's network speed should not be so slow that you cannot load web pages. The 3g data speeds are about the only 1Mbps per second up and down. This is due to the extremely high number of 3g data users.

The ATT iphone 4s uses the HSPA+ data network which quite fast.

This. He put it better than I did - but in the politest and most gentle way I could I was pointing out what appeared to be your misunderstanding with the app (tweak). It simply does not improve your cell signal in any way. Such a thing is not possible, especially not with an admittedly useful cydia tweak. At least it's not possible in the way most often thought of.

I do use the tweak - I like the tweak, i recommend it myself.

I am also glad that it appears to have helped you though - in my area, Verizon is the undisputed king of the blazing fast networks... And Sprint (my current carrier) is about as bad as it gets. So I empathize with having bad speeds, and wanting them better. If you've somehow resolved the issue in your phone, that IS fantastic and I am TRULY & SINCERELY happy.

Take care,
Rob

I just re-read this thread. Nowhere did I state this app improves 3G signal. What I did say is Verizon's 3G data speeds are fast enough for any smartphone user's needs.

There are many threads in various forums that mention Apple restricting, and or limiting data through put to the iPhone. I have no idea why, but they do.

The work around for this limitation is to jail break your phone and use an app similar to the one I mention. This app does nothing more than allow the device to receive maximum data throughput.

That seems very odd I know people that have verizon iPhone's that are not jailbroke and do not have the 3g unrestrictor and they can load youtube videos with no problem. Also when I had my Droid and Droid X, both verizon 3g phones, I never got a more than 1.2Mbps down and I had absolutely no problems loading or watching YouTube and Netflix videos over 3g.

This simply depends. I have a Verizon iPhone 4.

And a most places I have pretty fast loading speeds. Quite impressive.

But rite in my own apartment I rarely have fast 3G speeds. Tho I have wifi. It is not my wifi. It's my neighbors unlocked wifi, who I'm pretty sure has no idea I'm using it. But on retain days the wifi signal will just be bad for se reason, and I sing have to just use 3G if I ever want anything to load. But everything takes way too long to load when I'm on 3G at home.

A couple other places too. But i have pretty fast speeds every where else.

This is because I live in PA, US.

This stupid state is nothing but hills...hills, and more hills....and then more hills. And it never ends until you cross a boarder to another state.

So it really think verizon speeds depend on how good your 3G signal is.

When I'm anywhere near Pittsburgh I have amazing 3G speeds.

Why dont you mention said app guy?

3G Unrestrictor.

They may be able to view YouTube videos, but only in low quality.

You're right about the Droud X. As I stated previously in this thread, this does not occur on Android devices. My point being it's probably an Apple decision to limit throughput to the iPhone.

It's the network. Mine varies from .1mbps to 1mbps depending on my location. Seems like crap to me 3G should be way faster than .1mbps. All Verizon will do for me is try to sell me a 4g android phone.

Yes it's the network. As I stated there has been a large number of new smartphone subscribers to all the cell companies. I remember when I was able to get 2+ Mbps down. With more network traffic comes slower connections.
