Following on from todays WSJ story that Sprint, AT&T and Verizon are to start selling the iPhone 5 in mid-October, AppleInsider has further news that also points to a release date in mid-October. According to sources in contact with AppleInsider, production on advertising spots for the iPhone 5 has already started in Los Angeles, but filming of the first-run spots, meaning those ads that will be shown at launch, is said to be continuing until the middle of the first week in October. The ads are being filmed by Apples regular ad firm, TBWAChiatDay. AppleInsider notes that this fits in very nicely with Apples usual time-scale for filming ads prior to a launch, which is usually approximately one month to five weeks in advance. Going by previous experience with the ad production schedule for both the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3G, we should expect the iPhone 5 to be launching mid-to-late October.
