AppleInsider reports today that Apple is still on schedule to release its next iPhone sometime in September, and according to AppleInsiders source, it may well have a Gorilla Glass inlay to aid heat dissipation and cellular reception. KGI Research analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also wrote about the next iPhone in a note to investors on Friday, saying that the phone is currently in the production verification test (PVT) stage of the manufacturing process, and that the supply chain is still intact right down the line, ready for the final push, despite recent rumours that the launch date might have to be pushed back due to supply shortages. However, Kuo did concede that components such as in-cell touch-panels from Sharp and LG may well be in short supply, but not enough to effect the launch date. Kuo also said that the recent leaked images of external iPhone 5 parts are probably authentic.
