BGR writes that CNET has just published the results of a battery life test between the iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus, revealing the surprising result that both iPhone 8 models out-performed the iPhone X, the most expensive of the three phones.
When CNET testing the battery life by played a video on all three phones at half brightness, it was the iPhone X that gave up the ghost first, at 11:45 hours, whereas the iPhone 8 lasted 13.5 hours and the iPhone 8 Plus lasted a little longer at 13.75 hours.
As far as everyday use is concerned, CNET reported that the iPhone X battery life was in-between that of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, with the OLED display eating up more battery life than the LCD displays of the other two phones.
Tested against the Galaxy Note 8 and the OnePlus 5T, the non-Apple phones were found to have much longer battery life than all three iPhones, running for more than 17 hours, but this is usually the case in any iPhone/non-iPhone testing scenario.
