What model iPhone are we talking about... and how was it unlocked?

It's an iPhone 4 it's from Canada and my aunt lives in brazil...it was unlocked in Canada by someone not shur who and I locked because I updated it and I did not know that us would lock pls help

Are we talking about it not being open to all networks anymore or is it locked out via the passcode ?
