Iphone Video Format

As a new comer to this forum I am not sure if this had been discussed before. I have searched and not seen a similar discussion.

Why do I need to convert a video taken on my iphone4 in order to see it save it / view it on my version 1 Apple TV ? Surely they should be totally compatible ?

iphone4 can support some fixed video formats, such as MP4. if Your video is not MP4,it cannot be played on iPhone. If you are interested in the conversion or converter,you can browse the following website to have a better understanding about this topic.

But the video was taken with the iphone4 !!!
