it will not erase if you update it. just make sure your not upgrading to 5.1.1. wait until there is a JB which is days away

yup. youll have to JB again. there is an app which saves your jailbreak tweaks that when you JB youll just need to restore. i forgot the name. i usually reinstall my cydia apps.
