itunes &windows vista =no cd/dvd drive

so i noticed today that my cd/dvd/cdrw drives werent working . windows couldnt start them .after doing a little research i find out that itunes conflicts with vista and this is the result .
i uninstalled itunes and my drives are back .

there has to be a fix for this .

yes i had the latest itunes

has anyone noticed this issue with itunes and windows 7?
