Yup. That's correct. I sign in with my Google account and have it sync contacts. Been doing it for years. Makes switching back and forth between phones a breeze.

Settings / Contacts / Accounts / (If Google isn't listed) Add Account / Google

You can still sync your iCloud contacts if you want, but you'll have double and it'll be tough keeping up with who's who inside of which account. That's why i stopped using iCloud as my contacts years ago. I only use Google now.

Cool, thanks! I didn't know you could do that. I appreciate the information. I had exported my contacts from my Android phone to a file, emailed them to myself and then imported them on the iPhone. Your way is definitely easier!
