I've seen the original but not this version, how do they compare?

I've not seen the original yet, so I don't know which one's better. Sorry!
All I can tell you is that the version from 2014 is lovely, and the music is quite good. When I saw it for the first time, I was surprised to hear Jamie Foxx singing.

Just watched this and its fantastic, Tom Hardy plays the twins brilliantly especially Ronnie, I actually forgot at times that it was just one actor.
