MacRumors reports on the lines that are starting to form across the world, including in Japan and the UK, as people attempt to secure themselves an iPhone 4S when stores open tomorrow. Of course Australia and Japan will be kicking the whole thing off in just a few short hours, and then the store openings will start to roll out across the globe. According to MacRumors, Guillaume Erard, who shot the above video of fans queuing up outside Tokyos Shibuya retail store, said that he counted over 100 people queuing already with 11 hours still to go. Fans have also been queuing up outside Apples flagship stores in London, specifically the Regent Street and Covent Garden stores (the latter is the biggest Apple store in the world to date). Queues have also been reported in Paris. Of course its a little early for people to be queuing up in the US, but MacRumors does have one little story from the US frontline, as provided by Twitter user @joehewitt, who tweets the following gem:
Woz and his Segway first in line at the Los Gatos Apple Store. Only one in line too!
I really hope that's true!
Meanwhile, 9to5 Mac is reporting that the iPhone 4S has now sold out completely at all US Apple carriers (AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint). Apple has already announced this week that it sold 1 million iPhone 4Ss via its 100 world carriers in just 24 hours, a big rise from the 600,000 iPhone 4s sold in five countries in 2010.
