Well forum. I do believe I'm gonna take this plunge and try this.
I'll update this thread when I've shipped my iPhone off and I'll throw up a review when I'm done... I really wanna see if this works. :D!

If what I'm reading about this product is legit, I just can't understand why we're just hearing about is as a use for iPhones first. Not that our iPhones aren't all-important:D, but it sure seems like there would be so many more applications for it's use with more urgency than phones. Weapons for one. I would think the military would be very interested in being able to waterproof weapons and equipment etc. And how about medical applications? The fishing industry? The possibilities seem endless. Maybe the company is hoping to create the demand by proving it on phones first? Or maybe it's a sham? Be interesting to see how it plays out.

Yes it would. I'm seriously thinking about trying this myself.
I might outta wait for some reviews though...
I'd really like to find info on how it really works and what materials they use.

To me it appears that the coating goes just about everywhere inside. I guess everywhere a vapor can go. My question is what happens with the the various electrical connections and switch contacts? Does it affect things like the the headphone jack or the dock? I can't see where the speaker or microphone diaphragms would suffer any.

I just read the site and it only takes them 2 hours to do it once they recieve it, but you are still without your phone for a few days. I can't do that.

It sounds great though. If it was really legit they would offer some kind of guarantee against water damage, don't you think?

Use liquipel if your that person who forgets there phone in there pants and then puts them in the washer or if your that person who says oh look an open toilet bowl let me hoover over it with my Iphone and lets hope it dont fall in.... Opps it feel in.. >_>

I found this hilarious!

I did some more looking into it and I saw that there are quite a bit of rumors that we are going to start seeing this type of waterproofing directly from manufacturers like Apple. I think that would be great and something I would pay more for. Why just phones though? I was thinking iPods would benefit and even notebook computers. Although I would be interested to see how the waterproof barrier golds up to more acidic liquids like coffee or cola.

I've also heard this rumor. I think liquipels CEO actually stated this at CES 2012. I hope this actually comes to light. It'd really great or the customer. I'm sure almost all of us has had some type of water related incident with a cell phone. I know I have. Lol! :)

I honestly want to try it, but I don't want to send my phone out. I kinda want to hear from darkstar2007 to see how it goes.

Maybe these two threads could be merged.:)
