Maximization tweak runs apps in full screen mode

Most iPhone users fail to notice that the good old status bar in their devices actually eats up 20 pixels of their screen. Since the larger screen next generation smartphone is not out yet, every pixel matters on a 3.5” screen. But this problem becomes history since this week, thanks to the release of a brand new jailbreak application entitled “Maximization”. This is how they advertise for it: “Run all Apps in Fullscreen Mode! Maximization allows you to run all your Apps in Fullscreen-Mode (by removing the Statusbar). It also adds the Time and Battery Percentage to the Notification Center GrabberYou can disable Maximization for certain Apps in the Settings”

Maximizations works by axing the status bar from basically every app you have working on your iDevice. The tweak will hide the bar from above applications, thus ensuring that users get a larger screen. The software will also display the hour and how much battery users have left to use.

Of course the tweak is not perfect and will work better with some apps than others. Users might get a black bar instead of the usual status bar, but overall the software does its job properly. If Maximization doesn’t work with one particular app, users can disable it within the application in question. To set their apps for Maximization users must head over to the Extension menu found under Settings. There’s no need to turn on the tweak for each app individually as users only have to fill up the list.
Maximization is available for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch via Cydia.
