New member needs help

So someone left a white iphone 4 at my work and its been here for a month in the lost and found. No one claimed it.
So I get the phone and goto verizon to get it turned on and they say it cant be used because it was lost.
is there a way i can get around this? Or jailbreak it?

Your chances of using it as a phone is pretty slim..

Could just use it for games and ipod etc...

A good find! Funny though that the person who lost the iPhone didn't CALL HIS NUMBER so you could see the call, reply, hook up, and return to that owner. Oh well.

Is it a GSM phone or CDMA? Sim card? The current sim card inside could have been burned by the carrier to block the use of the phone. Just get a valid micro sim card with a data plan , pop it in and it should work. If not, restore it when you connect it to iTunes.
