If you would like some juicy iPhone 5 rumors, check the goodie bag because theres some interesting information waiting for you here. Patently Apple has recently done some digging around and has not come out of this endeavor empty handed. Were talking about a patent that hints at Near Field Communication (NFC) technology coming to the future iPhone, and this patent was filed by the company back in December 2011. Yet this is not the first NFC patent Apple has tried to register. The original patent dates back all the way to 2008.
Prior to the iPhone 4S there were a lot of rumors around this particular NFC functionality and lots of people seemed to think the improvement will transform the act of payment. The process would be diluted to just waving the NFC enabled device in front of a checkout counter, a vending machine or another NFC equipped gadget. But the expectations came crushing down into the dust, as the iPhone 4S did not possess such a quality. Now all hopes seem to be directed towards the iPhone 5.
The new patent however describes an iTune gifting scenario where users can send different playlists or buy all sorts of different media that is transferred from one device to the next, thanks to wireless.
The idea seems simple enough: the first user selects the gifts he or she wants to send and waves the device in front of the other phone. And voila! The process sounds very easy and were certainly hoping the rumors turn out to be true.
