According to a new report on BGR today, the forthcoming iPhones (and possibly iPads, too) look set to have a Lightning-to-USB cable that is reversible at both ends.
The news comes via a YouTube video posted by well-sourced Apple insider Sonny Dickson, which shows how the cable works. The brief video shows very clearly how easy it is to use the reversible USB cable when charging your iPhone or connecting it to a laptop.
As BGR notes, it’s highly likely that the new accessory will be included with the new iPhone models that are due to launch in September, and also the forthcoming new iPad and iPad mini range that will be launching later in the year. It’s also likely that the cables will be available as separate accessories for those who already have an iPhone or an iPad with a Lightning port and just want the cable.
As BGR notes, it is also rumoured that this new reversible USB cable will also support high-definition audio playback.
