Last month we shared that Apple created a way to check for in-store availability of an iPhone 5S before heading out to your local stores. While their service is handy, a third party developer made things even easier for folks to determine if/where they can grab a new iPhone 5S in their area. It's a website called, iPhoneCheck, and it is basically an instant online database which culls all of the available information on stock levels at stores nationwide.
All you have to do is enter in your zip code, and then pick which color and carrier interests you. You will then be given a listing of all available stores which may or may not have the iPhone 5S you are looking for. It even breaks it down into a handy chart which differentiates the multiple storage sizes of the phones. If you see a red X, then there isn't any available. If you see a green check mark, then they have one of those.
One thing that's important to note is the list appears to have a wide-range of what it considers local. For example, in the pic we shared above which is using our HQ zip code in Austin, TX, there are several sites listed which are from cities several hundred miles away, and some in neighboring states! Keep this in mind and call ahead if you want to go on a lengthy quest for the model of your choice.
For what it is worth, there are no Gold iPhone 5S models anywhere near our area either! Here's the website below.
