Newbie to this forum hoping to learn some about his iPhone 4s

Hi board members as my subject suggests, I'm new here and hope to learn from the learned members of this forum.

May I pose a question here?

I want to clean up my iTunes folder... my music/itunes/itunes media/mobile applications/

I find 325 files here, many appear to be older copies/versions of the same apps. Like there is;

dictionary 1.ipa
dictionary 3.4.ipa
dictionary 3.ipa
dictionary.ipa

If I were to delete ALL but the most recent would I be doing any damage or is my hunch correct that I would simply be removing previous versions of "dictionary.ipa"?

I love a good clean up
