Problem with downloading an application

I bought an application for my Iphone 4 and it is really large and for some reason it is showing me the app icon "waiting" but is not downloading. Is there a way that I can just get rid of the icon and stater later because my phone wont let me delete it. Can I hook it up to my computer that I sync it on and that would make the difference? TIA

As far as I know it won't delete. Just open iTunes find the app and download it, just sync it after it downloads. Every once in a while you run into this slow loading process on the phone.

You can't delete it in the usual way. I had this problem once and a reboot (hold the lock and home buttons until you see the apple) solved it...
