PSA: iOS 6.0.1 UNTETHERED Jailbreak

So I am on 6.0.1. I have not taken the upgrade to 6.0.2. I just installed Tiny Umbrella and it says it canot save the shsh blobs for my device. that apple is not signing any more for ios 6.0. What do I do now?

The only SHSH blobs that're being signed are iOS 6.0.2 for the iPhone 5 and iPad Mini.

ok, so if I upgrade to 6.0.2 I can save the shsh blobs and the jailbreak will work for me... I just dont want to upgrade and then find the jailbreak wont work... but since 6.0.2 was a hotfix that shouldnt mess with anything....

Wow, so the update for 6.0.2 is going to take 5 hours to download... sheesh... I know it isnt my connection that is slow. I normally download at about 4m/sec....

well it ended up takig about 1.5 hours start to finish... But yea I still cant save my SHSH Blobs... Tiny Umbrella is still saying that pple will not sign 6.0.1 blobs... Funny, I have 6.0.2 installed....

The blobs that you can save depend on your device. If you're on an iPad Mini or iPhone 5, you will ONLY have access to iOS 6.0.2. If you're on a 4S or below, you'll have access to iOS 6.0.1 ONLY. Meaning if you're on a 5 or iPad Mini, you CANNOT get your 6.0.1 blobs anymore.

TU won't save blobs for 6.0.1 for the iPhone 5 any longer since it's not being signed. TU will only save blobs for 6.0.2 if you updated via iTunes. If you updated OTA... your blobs will not be available for saving.

Thanks for clearing that up Thomasjtsi, I was getting a little confused just reading through this thread then. I'm still on 6.0.1 iPhone 5.. Should I stick to what I'm on or do the update to 6.0.2? Via iTunes

From what I'm seeing... the Devs haven't made it 100% clear on whether or not it's safe to update to 6.0.2. Yes, it's just another 6.0 hotfix... just nothing definitive on it working w/ the JB yet. So, if you're doing well on 6.0.1 I'd stay there. However, definitely run TinyUmbrella and save your 6.0.2 blobs.... always good to have those saved.

I was thinking of maybe staying on 6.0.1 too great to know I'd of done the right thing. Ill make sure to save my blobs for 6.0.2 now. Thanks for the advice. 😀

I am on 6.0.2... but TU still thinks Im on 6.0.1... how do I slap awake TU and mae it see that I am on 6.0.2? I updated through Itunes. I have rebooted both my iPhone 5 and my laptop...

Hey guys. Little bit confused here by the postings.

I have an iPhone 5 that came out of the box with 6.0.1.

Does the posts in this thread mean that i should just stay on 6.0.1 and NOT restore and upgrade to 6.0.2?

Also how does coming out of the box with 6.0.1 affect whether i can save my 6.0.1 blobs with TU?

well I can answer that last part... Apple is no longer signing blobs for 6.0.1. what this means is that you cannot use TU to save the SHSH Blobs for 6.0.1.

I just updated to 6.0.2 in hopes that I could save THOSE blobs, but for some reason TU still thinks my phone is on 6.0.1 and therefore will NOT save the blobs for me. I am waiting to see if anyone is able to save 6.0.2 blobs...

as to the first part of your post.... well the issue is if you DON'T have any blobs saved, and you jailbreak and run into an issue where you have to do a full restore the only restore you would be able to do would be to go up to 6.1... However if you HAVE blobs from an earlier version, then you could restore to that earlier version.

I updated to 6.0.2 in hopes that I could save those blobs in case I fubared my iPhone 5 and had to do a full restore. since I cannot seem to save them yet, if I mes up this weekend I might end up accidentally having to update to 6.1 in which case there is a chance the JB wont support it...

Did that help? Or did I just confuse you more....
