Saving a few photos & files in a folder

I'm long retired. Know iphone basics only.
Sometimes i take a photo or receive an SMS receipt for something etc.
Can I send the things I may need to easily find in the future into a folder on the iphone.
Unless I can save the important odd thing they get lost in the crowd.

You could create an Album and put these items in that.

Is the 'album' for various stuff apart from photos? e.g. PDF doc?

You would need to save it as a screenshot, then you could save it to an Album in Photos.

I think carolineM's advice here is spot on!
Another benefit to having a photo album is with iCloud Photos it's all backed up to iCloud. So should something happen to your iPhone, you can sign in to iCloud on a new device, or online at iCloud.com, to retrieve any important documents you might need.
